How many products are in my Shopify Catalogue?
A question we seem to get asked many times over and annoyingly isn’t shown in the products tab. So how do we do this.
1: Go to the Sales Channel Tab
Head over to Settings > Sales Channels
2: View the /all collections page
type /collections/all into your browser after your website for instance https://www.jewellerygraphics.net/collections/all you can see that there are 30 rows of 4 products x 10 pages as seen at the bottom of the page. This means there are approx 1200 products in total. If you want an exact figure, go to the last page and count how many products there are and then total( 9 pages x 30 x 4) + (no of products on the last page) In the case above there are 45 products on the last page making a total of 1125. Slightly different from the approx total but perfect if you need an accurate figure. Slightly more manual approach but sometimes this is quite a quick way if you don’t have access to the admin area in Shopify.
Note here that this works for paginated pages. Pages that autoload the next set of products when you scroll down will be harder to calculate.
3: Export your Products as a CSV
Go to Products in the admin area in Shopify and select export. Make sure you select ALL PRODUCTS and then export it as a csv or csv for excel. When the email arrives, download the csv and open or import it into excel or Google Drive and view the number of rows down the left-hand side of the excel sheet to determine how many products you have. This will work well for single items with 1 price. If you have products with variants and options this might be more difficult as a single product can take up multiple rows in excel.
4: Find your product total in Shopify super fast
Ok, this is the fastest way and on reflection should have led with this but add the following text to your url /admin/products/count.json so for https://jewellerygraphics.myshopify.com/admin/products/count.json produces the result below. It requires admin access.
