Diamondset Ring Builder is a Shopify App that allows customers to add a live center stone to any ring design on any Shopify Website.

APP Costs: The app is priced at $250pcm (£199) + applicable taxes (recurring payment through Shopify) which includes high-level support and feature upgrades.

Due to each Shopify theme being different, we offer custom integration only to fully set up the app, link it your live inventory and provide training and support.

Annual Payment: We are looking into adding an annual payment option into Shopify billing at a cost of £2000 for 12 months (two months free, making the app just £166.60 pcm)

Design Integration: This is our full design setup to allow the app to look like a seamless part of your website and offer the very best experience for your customers.

We will install and set up the app widgets into your website. Create the correct Collection page and Product page templates to work with the app and create some sample Diamond Rings with the correct tags to demonstrate how the app works. We include icon-based filters in the collection pages, if possible with the theme, for better searching and filtering of designs. We then provide comprehensive training and support to help you launch the feature to your customers. Our cost for this integration is £3995 + applicable taxes (one-off fee). A 50% deposit is required to book the app installation and once work has started this is non refundable.

Rapnet Set up: You will require your Rapnet API key and password to access your diamond feed. We will provide further instructions on installation to locate these. Diamond Suppliers and Diamond Markups are managed in your Rapnet account.

Nivoda Set up: We will require your account email to verify with Nivoda so that you can access their feed through our app. Once we have confirmation of verification, you will need your email and Nivoda password to access your diamond feed. Diamond Suppliers and Diamond Markups are managed in your Nivoda account.

27/03/2024 - Diamond Price Multiplier - We have just implemented a multiplier function that allows all diamond prices to be increased or decreased by a %. This ensures accuracy with diamond prices from Rapnet and Nivoda if a currency is not supported.

19/03/2024 - We’ve gone International: With great thanks to the support of our clients that have stuck with us whilst we built and tested the app features, we are now officially installed in the UK, Ireland, Europe, USA, Mexico and Australia. 🥳

14/03/2024 - Translation Feature: We have added a new translation settings page that allows all wording within the app to be updated manually to any language. Our first test is with a client in Mexico that is working well.

15/01/2024 - Nivoda integration live: We have built, tested and launched our Nivoda integration. We are currently testing with new installations and tweaking results but intial tests are positive and working well. We expect a few minor issues to iron out but these will be worked as they are picked up.

06/10/2023 - Lab Grown Diamonds: Nivoda integration has started and we should be live within 4-6 weeks. We are testing the API to import both Lab and Mined diamonds into the live feed.

28/09/2023 - New Diamond Sorting Options: We have added some new sorting options into the live diamond feeds. The original launch only included sorting by price High to Low / Low to High. You can now sort by Carat, Colour, Clarity and Cut to make finding diamonds easier for customers.

21/08/2023 - Nivoda Integration: We are pleased to be finalising the agreement to install Nivoda’s API so that our app will support both mined diamonds through Rapnet and Nivoda and the addition of Live Lab grown diamonds through Nivoda. The app will continue to support csv for own diamond and alternate centre stone options. Both Rapnet and Nivoda usage will require a registered account with their platform.

07/08/2023 - New sorting features: We are pleased to be working on some new sorting options in the diamond feed so that diamonds can be sorted by Carat weight, Clarity, Colour, price. This makes the default view by Carat Weight easier for customers to find the diamond by alternate options.

28/06/2023 - Successful Live Integration: We have successfully installed the app into all existing client websites with no reported issues so far. We are adding the billing functionality at present so that the app can be listed publically on the Shopify App store for new installs. We are looking at ways to offer discounts to new installs to continue testing functionality before we roll out as a public app.

19/06/2023 - Nivoda Integration: We have had discussions with Nivoda to integrate their API into the app for their customers. We are currently looking for ways to fund this integration. There is no time frame available for this yet.

06/06/2023 - Update: Our first priority will be to migrate our existing customers to this new version of the ring builder. The new app will then be offered to new customers with Rapnet Live Mined Diamond integration and CSV import for Mined, Lab Grown, and Alternates e.g. Moissanite.

02/06/2023 - APP APPROVED: After several months of work we received great news that we are officially approved for publication on the Shopify App Store.


APP FAQ’s

  • The app is a native Shopify app so only works within the Shopify eCommerce system. We have no plans to add it to other website platforms in the near future.

  • Yes. The APP is installed on your website and managed through your Admin and Customize panel. This means customers are kept on your website throughout the buying process.

  • Yes! The APP will work on any Shopify installation and Supports both OS1.0 and OS2.0 themes. OS1.0 is a theme or website built pre-June 2021 although some websites built later than this may still be OS1.0. To check if you are on OS2.0

    Log in to your Shopify store admin.

    In Online Store > Themes > click Actions > Edit code.

    In the Templates folder of your theme, find product.json file, it exists which means your theme is a Shopify 2.0 OS theme.

  • The Design Integration takes about 3-5 days as we are setting up products, pricing, and menu's. We also add new sidebar filters, collection page set up and additional training via Zoom or telephone.

  • Yes if you use Shopify's new markets section which allows you to add multiple currencies or apps such as GlobalE to manage international sales and currencies.

  • The rings are set up using normal Shopify variants e.g metal colour and ring size e.g https://www.harpertait.com/collections/solitaire-engagement-rings/products/westminster-cushion and are priced up (ring only) in Shopify.

    For more pricing options such as https://www.thetruegem.com/collections/the-taylor-solitaire/products/taylor-solitaire-oval for instance has many more ring options and uses an options app within Shopify to extend the priced options beyond Shopify capabilities.

    We can help you set up filters within the sidebar of the collection to filter. Stone shape, Metal colour or Ring style (for larger collections). A smaller ring set might not necessarily need these filters set up at first.

  • We currently use Rapnet & Nivoda’s API for Mined & Lab Diamonds (requires a Rapnet or Nivoda Account) and Own CSV import for Mined, Lab and Alternate centre stone such as Moissanite.

    Own api's are a little more difficult to set up they require work to connect with the codebase and pull all the data through.

  • Yes. the app has a direct integration with Rapnets live API showing you a list of live-mined diamonds from your Rapnet Account. You will need a Rapnet account to ensure you can manage your diamonds and markup within their website.

  • Yes. The app integrates directly into Rapnets live diamond feed and you will need your own account with Rapnet to enable your feed to display on your website. You can use the Rapnet website to manage your diamond suppliers, available stones, and your pricing options such as tiered markups.

  • Yes. The APP now integrates full with Nivoda’s API for live mined and lab-grown diamonds. You can use the Nivoda website to manage your diamond suppliers, available stones, and your pricing options such as tiered markups.

  • Yes! you can import a CSV file with your lab-grown diamonds inventory, including images, videos, and certificates. There is currently no live integration with platforms such as Nivoda but this may come in the future.

  • The monthly APP fee covers hosting charges, app support, bug fixes, upgrades, and new features. We offer a Priority Support option for Shopify Stores that covers your APP and Website as a whole. This includes same-day fixes (if possible) onsite and offsite backups and additional training and guidance with Product Set up and Pricing.

  • There are currently no known bugs or issues that prevent the app from being the main source of sales for your Diamond Ring Products. We include a series of Unit and User tests in the code to ensure that errors are picked up by us before you or your clients find them. New updates are tested on a staging platform to limit issues to existing installations before we commit them to the live build.

    Sometimes the link to Rapnet may fail and will present no stones in the inventory. This is out of our control and on the odd occasion this happens it is resolved by Rapnet’s development team quickly.

    There is a good chance your live stones are being displayed on other websites and so the diamond can be purchased but not be available to buy. We rely on Rapnets data feed to be updated and have no control over what diamonds are displayed. With your own inventory imported in via CSV you control what stones are in the system so have less chance of the stone being sold elsewhere.

  • Our diamond list is shown in a list view only that can be expanded to see more about the diamond. This is fast and user friendly. We are currently looking at adding a grid-view diamond feed with the ability to hide diamonds that have no available images.

  • Our app only supports the diamond filters at the top of the page as originally designed. With over 60-70% of people browsing on mobile phones this change would only affect a small percentage. We do however have this on our design review list and alongside the grid view diamonds feel this could be a nice addition in the future.

  • When the diamond feed is loaded it displays all diamonds, filtered by carat weight (low to high). We don’t have facility to pre-select or prioitise a filter option at present but is something we feel could be future update and addition to the app.

  • For those that are familiar with CSS styling, a majority of the app elements can be targeted with css styling to change the colours, spacing and fonts for instance. We will be publishing a more in-depth guide about this soon.

    Our design integration plan will cover a majority of the styling requests for your website.
