SorbetMedia™ offers services in creative design and digital media. We specialise in 3D motion graphics, branding and website design for large corporations, SME’s, and individuals and have a range of e-commerce solutions available to our customers.

Jewellery Monthly™ Is our flagship Jewellery news and information resource tailored for Bridal Jewellery, diamond and gemstone education along with product and service advertising. Jewellery Monthly is growing and is rapidly gaining popularity, fans and 1000′s of regular page hits. This site is now open for product placements, reviews, advertisements and articles, not only to provide a rich resource of information to the general public but also provide a platform to showcase our clients products, present their brands and drive targeted users directly to their websites.

SorbetShop™ is our most recent launch. A Royalty free stock image resource of Jewellery Photography, Diamond and gemstone vector graphics and icons. HD Photography is the term mentioned by many of our clients. HD generally stands for High Definition video output and not to be confused with high resolution image creation or photography for print. This means the information displayed for Plasmas, LCD or LED screens is of a higher resolution and includes a higher pixel rate. Furthermore, the detail of the final result gives the viewer a sharper, cleaner and more enjoyable visual experience.

The internet has a seen a rise in the popularity of HD video provided by on-line streaming platforms such as YouTube and Vimeo. The demand for better quality video and interactive content is increasing on a global scale. As a company that provides interactive animation and videos for Jewellery retailers, our only real constraints for providing a seamless, high quality service is internet bandwidth. A large proportion of Internet Service Providers are now offering high speed broadband for on-demand services which is going some way to relaxing our procedures in image compression and video processing in order to achieve a quality that is actually worth viewing.

LionSorbet are great at creating HD content for DVD, and on-screen display, but what are the real implications of viewing and creating this type of content for viewing online? What needs to be considered? and how does this affect your customers experience?

1: HD video is physically larger on screen than standard video content. This increases the size of the entire video, sometimes by a factor of 4. If a customers broadband speed is lower than normal, a HD video stored on your web server may take too long to download. Will your customer have the patience to wait around?

2: A longer video will have a larger file size than a shorter one. The video length has to be considered to establish what impact this will have on the time to download, view or stream the video. How long does your video actually need to be?

3: HD Video content takes much longer to create, render and publish. This makes it more expensive to produce which can affect your bottom line.

4: Jewellery is viewed in a shop at actual size. The true beauty of diamonds and precious metals combined on such a small scale render them truly precious. Does viewing a Jewellery item on a computer screen at almost 10 times the size provide a better view of the ring? or do they see more than they need to?

So if you decide to embark on high quality video animation for your site, think of the file size, vs typical internet download speeds, vs quality of video. Retaining your customers on your website is key. Delivering content quickly and efficiently at the best possible quality is even more so at the right price.

Lionsorbet has had the pleasure working with German Jewellery Retailer Les Facettes over these past few months. Our dedicated team have been burning the midnight oil to make sure their stunning jewellery range was showcased using our latest Gemstone Photography techniques.

Meeting their team face to face was a great joy for us as it allowed us to understand their business and their needs perfectly before we embarked on rendering their entire jewellery range ready for the new web site launch in October 2011. Using our experience in creating high quality images of Gemstones, Diamonds and Precious metals we have created a large range of unique products and gemstone styles for their ranges of rings, earrings and pendants.

As you can see from our visuals they have some stunning and unique designs. The Lionsorbet jewellery photo shots are flawless because they are digital replicas of the real thing. We love the fact you can choose any type of Gem stone for each jewellery item and you can view what they will look like via the digital hand, model or bust viewer.

Created as a bespoke 3D CAD commission for Serendipity Diamonds, this unique wedding ring set, features a two stone split engagement ring set with a round brilliant cut and heart shaped diamonds. Its matching shaped wedding band has three round brilliant cut diamonds flush set into the top surface forming a graduated trail with the larger round diamond. Created in 3D CAD for manufacture and rendered using our in house digital photography studio.
